6 Events that shook  Indian Politics in 2021

Lets take a glance at some of the events of 2021 that left a major impact on Indian Politics.

January 26 Red fort Violence

On January 26, thousands of protesters clashed with the police in New Delhi during a tractor parade against the 3 Farm laws. 

Many of them entered the monument where a religious flag was also hoisted. Over 500 police personnel were injured. GOI formally repealed the 3 laws on 1 December 2021.

Second wave of COVID-19

Hospitals flooded with patients. Critical shortage of beds, oxygen cylinders and other equipment.

Several state government and hospitals made frantic calls, for the critical oxygen supply.  Along with the governments, several organisations and individuals came out to help those in need.

Pegasus snooping row

Alleged snooping of mobile phones of political leaders, top judges, media personalities and other eminent people by using the Israel-made Pegasus spyware created panic.

Farmers’ protest against farm laws

Farmers from several states, gathered on Delhi borders for over a year before the Narendra Modi government, announced the withdrawal of the three farm laws.

Shiromani Akali Dal breake ties with the BJP, ending the 24-year-old alliance. The protest attracted international attentions and controversies too.

Eight people died after being mowed down by an SUV allegedly belonging to Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra Teni’s son Ashish Mishra

Ashish, along with 12 others, were arrested after Supreme Court expressed disappointment's over government inaction
