IFFI 2018

Iffi 2018 was held from 20th Nov to 28th Nov 2018. Akshay Kumar, Karan Johar, Subhash Ghai, Madhur Bhandarkar, Ramesh Sippy, Siddharth Roy Kapoor, Prasoon Joshi and Poonam Dhillon attended the inaugural ceremony of IFFI 2018 at Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee stadium in Taleigao, Plateau.

Governor of Goa, Mridula Sinha, Union minister of State for Information & Broadcasting, Col Rajyavardhan Rathore, PWD minister of Goa Sudin Madhav Dhavalikar; and Chairperson, Film Certification Appellate Tribunal, Prasoon Joshi were also present for the inauguration function.

The opening ceremony also featured “The Aspern Papers director” Julien Landais, singer Arijit Singh, directors Ramesh Sippy, Madhur Bhandarkar and Singaporean American actor Chin Han.

The Panjim city was decorated like a queen for the 49th film festival IFFI 2018.
212 movies were screened this year from over 68 countries at Iffi 2018. This year’s opening film was the world premiere of Julien Landais’ first feature film debut ‘The Aspern Papers’.

Sergei Loznitsa’s Donbass won the coveted Golden Peacock Award at the 49th International Film Festival of India, and  Lijo Jose Pellissery was awarded as the Best Director honour for Ee Ma Yau.

IFFI 2018 gained high coverage from print media and social media.
Actors Sophie Choudry and Arjan Bajwa were the hosts for the closing ceremony held on 28th November 2018. Anil Kapoor, Arbaaz khan, Diana Penty, Jim Sarbh, Rakul Preet Singh and many other bollywood stars graced the closing ceremony.
Veteran screenwriter Salim Khan was honored with the IFFI Special Award for his Lifetime Contribution to Cinema.
