IBPS PO 2019 Notification
The notification for the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection Probationary Officer Bank Exam (IBPS PO Bank Exam) for the year 2019 will be out soon. IBPS provides its services to all Public-Sector Banks, SBI, Associate Banks of SBI, RBI, NABARD, SIDBI, LIC & Insurance companies and other Banks which are regular members of the IBPS society.
IBPS PO Prelims Exam 2019 is scheduled on 12th, 13th, 19th & 20th October 2019 while the IBPS PO Main Examination will be tentatively held on 30th November 2019.
The notification is expected in the month of July and the selection procedure will commence after that.

Eligible candidates are required to register for the exam through online mode before the last date for application on the official IBPS website, ibps.in. The candidates will have to go through the Preliminary and Main Exams which will be conducted online, followed by Interview. Candidates must pass each exam to get shortlisted and progress to the next stage. Final selection will be based on Mains and Interview merit.
IBPS PO Eligibility Criteria – 2019
Educational Qualification
A Degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a University recognized by the Govt. Of India or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.
The candidate must possess a valid Mark-sheet / Degree Certificate that he/ she is a graduate on the day he/she registers and indicate the percentage of marks obtained in Graduation while registering online.
Candidate should indicate the percentage obtained in Graduation calculated to the nearest two decimals in the online application. Where CGPA / OGPA is awarded, the same should be converted into percentage and indicated in online application. If called for interview, the candidate will have to produce a certificate issued by the appropriate authority inter alia stating that the norms of the University regarding conversion of grade into percentage and the percentage of marks scored by the candidate in terms of norms.
Nationality / Citizenship
A candidate applying for IBPS CWE/Bank PO Examination must be one of the following:
i. Citizen of India
ii. Subject of Nepal
iii. Subject of Bhutan
iv. Tibetan Refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanent settlement
v. Person of Indian Origin (PIO) who has migrated from Burma, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Vietnam or East African countries of Zaire,Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Ethiopia, Malawi, with the intention of permanent settlement in India
candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) & (v) above shall be a person in whose favor a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.
Age Eligibility
Minimum 20 years and Maximum 30 years at the time of registration for general category candidates.
Age relaxation:
1 Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe – 5 years
2 Other Backward Classes (Non-Creamy Layer) – 3 years
3 Persons With Benchmark Disabilities as defined under “The Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016” – 10 years
4 Ex-Servicemen, Commissioned Officers including Emergency Commissioned Officers (ECOs)/ Short Service Commissioned Officers (SSCOs) who have rendered at least 5 years military service and have been released on completion of assignment (including those whose assignment is due to be completed within one year from the last date of receipt of application) otherwise than by way of dismissal or discharge on account of misconduct or inefficiency or physical disability attributable to military service or invalidment – 5 years
5 Persons ordinarily domiciled in the state of Jammu & Kashmir during the period 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989 – 5 years
6 Persons affected by 1984 riots – 5 years

More than 20 lakh aspirants appear for the IBPS Bank PO examination every year. The detailed vacancy chart will be announced along with the IBPS PO 2019 notification. There were 4252 vacancies for IBPS PO 2018-19 Exam, 2019-2020 also it is expected to be more or less same.
IBPS PO Exam Pattern for Prelims
The structure of the Examinations which will be conducted online are as follows:

Candidates will have to answer each test in the time duration specified for the particular test only. Revisiting the test after the time out is not allowed.
Candidates will have to pass in each of the three tests individually by securing minimum cut-off marks as well as will have to clear the total cut-off marks decided by IBPS.

The candidates who clear the preliminary exam will have to clear the main exam in order to answer the interview.

Penalty for Wrong Answers (Applicable to both – Online Preliminary and Online Main examination)
For each question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate one fourth or 0.25 of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty to arrive at corrected score. If a question is left blank, i.e. no answer is marked by the candidate, there will be no penalty for that question.
Interview
Candidates who have been shortlisted in the Online Main examination will be invited for an Interview to be conducted by the Participating Organisations and coordinated by the Nodal Bank in each State/ UT with the help of IBPS. Interviews will be conducted at select centers. The center, address of the venue, time & date of Interview will be informed to the shortlisted candidates in the call letter.

The total marks allotted for Interview are 100. The minimum qualifying marks in the interview will not be less than 40% (35% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates). The weightage (ratio) of Online Main Exam and interview will be 80:20 respectively.

IBPS PO Pre-Exam Training
Pre-Examination Training may be arranged by the Nodal Banks/ Participating Organisations to a limited number of candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribes/ Minority Communities at certain centers. All eligible candidates who opt for and wish to avail of Pre-Examination Training should indicate the same in the online Application. While training will be given free of cost, all other expenses will have to be borne by the candidate for attending the pre-examination training program at the designated Centres.
IBPS PO 2019 Result
IBPS PO Final results will be announced after the completion of each phase of Examination. The final merit list will be prepared giving 80% weightage to mains exam and 20% to the interview.
